Should I get an older car or a newer car?
Now let me explain a little bit. I’m planning on getting a Datsun 240Z. The reason being is that it’s light, easy to work on, lots of tuning/aftermarket options, et cetera. However, I was told that in terms of racing performace there is no substitute for technology. I think Jeremy Clarkson demonstrated that pretty well when he compared a Nissan Skyline R33 with a bunch of other exotics (what surprised me more is that the R33 beat the Ferrari 550 and Porsche 911 in a technical course)
So basically my question is this: If I’m looking for a car that handles like a beast, should I get a 240Z? If not, should I get something else? (e.g. Miata, LanEvo, Elise, 240sx, M3, etc)
By the way, I’m not talking about looks, safety, resale value, etc. I’m talking solely on performance.
Bman – 240Z is lighter than any of the other cars that you’ve mentioned. In fact, it’s even lighter than a Miata, believe it or not.

Most models are getting old and there are plenty more out there
like the datsun as you said and even older models of the cars mentioned.
