In 2005, Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of Battle of the Year was virtually one way, as Todd Kluever Roush Racing was the only candidate to attempt a full time and published the first twelve seats ten. Shigeaki Hattori and Timothy Peters were the only drivers to the limit of twenty-eight race career. Peters had two top tens, while Hattori struggled and was released for Germain Racing. Regan Smith was the only other driver led more than ten races, and Clay Rogers, Nick Tucker, Jimmy Kite, Kerry Earnhardt and saw their seasons end early.
