Value of my 635?
I have a 1985 BMW 635CSi, and i’m going to be selling it just because I want something newer and more reliable. I am in the midwest United States and would like to get some opinions on what I should ask for it.
The car has 130k on it and let me start off by saying i’ve put a ton of money into it. The suspension has been gone through, new brakes, clutch, complete engine tune up with valve adjustment, and all kinds of things, probably about $10,000 worth so the car is very mechanically sound. It has a rare five speed manual, by the way. Runs/drives great and the engine pulls hard.
The bad: It was repainted about 5 years ago but some rust is bubbling out. The exhaust has some small holes and needs to be patched up. Interior is nice, seats are supple with no tears, but the dash has a few cracks. A/C does not work, the heat works but is weak.
The super mint ones in my area seem to be going for $6,000-12,000. I was thinking about trying to get $5500. What do you think?
I would honestly ask around $6000 for the car minimum. You will know very quickly if it will sell at the price. I’d go higher because a good running csi is a great find for any BMW enthusiast. Put this up on Bimmerforums.com in the For Sale section at around $7000-8000 and see what feed back you get. Take some good pictures of the highs and lows. The forum members will give you the best input for pricing it locally. They will tell you very quickly if you are asking too much.
Beauty and speed
WHILE six of the Art Cars blazed the circuit at Le Mans, the remaining 11 never made it to the race track. But they were never intended for that purpose and were solely for exhibition. Or, as in the case of the last Art Car in 2007, to show its potential.
