Want fries with that? Place your order at any fast-food hamburger chain and you can expect to get that question. But for a more sizable purchase – say, a Ferrari – deep-fried potatoes aren’t going to cut it. That’s where Vertu Ascent Ferrari comes along. The premium mobile phone maker owned by Nokia has already established itself among premium sportscar buyers with a number of special editions of their automotive-inspired Ascent range, including their Racetrack Legends series, and with Ferrari enthusiasts specifically with the special Ferrari Challenge edition.
The top of the line edition priced at $9,800 is called the Carbon Fibre Limited Edition, of which only a thousand will be made, featuring the woven material all over, including the side grips, battery cover and pouch case. Other editions incorporate carbon fiber in various designs and applications, including a carbon-copper weave. The reason, however, that Vertu cell phones are so desired is due to the status they confer on the owner. The Vertu Ferrari 60 is no exception. For individuals for whom money is no object, that staggering price tag poses no problem, even though one could easily buy an actual new car, instead of a new car themed cell phone. Like all Vertu phones, the Vertu Ferrari F60 comes with the famous Vertu concierge service, allowing a user to dial a team of experts from anywhere in the world at any time to arrange five star entertainment services, including dining, lodging, and travel.You can take your pick from the Racetrack Legends series to the Ferrari editions. Vertu’s latest offering, which uses carbon fiber in various designs and applications, is called the Vertu Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Collection. There are four individual editions, each displaying a new way of incorporating carbon fiber in its construction.
The Ferrari edition further upgrades the package with PVD coating and a battery cover styled after a Ferrari’s hood, complete with three-dimensional Prancing Horse logo. Each of the three editions – in Nero (black), Rosso (red) and Giallo (yellow) – will only be produced in limited numbers, so don’t be surprised to see some dealers charging a considerable premium for the ultimate side-order to serve alongside a tasty Ferrari road car. While the previous versions were based on the aging Ascent, the new Vertu Ferrari 1947 model starts life as the newly updated Ascent Ti, which features both quad-band GSM and WCDMA radios for use around the world, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, 3MP auto-focus flash camera and four gigs of storage, all encased in a titanium chassis with a sapphire crystal display and stainless-steel keys. That was followed by the Vertu Ascent Racetrack Ferrari , celebrating the company’s 60th anniversary, an additional Ferrari 1947 edition, and has now been supplanted by the new Ferrari Ascent Ti.
