question about making your own car body?
ok there is one friend who is buying old cars and changing the whole thing he,s putting the engine on the back changing the body a scrap i dont know what car was that it looked like a lamborghini and me and some of my friends are trying to do the same i just need to know how do they bend the metal for the body and how do they bend glass if the engine is at the back hoe does the gear work and any tips i would be more than thankful
To form sheet metal to make compound curves takes practice. You need some specialized tools, like an English wheel or a planishing hammer. These things take experience to use competently.
You don’t bend glass. You’ll have to order the glass in the shape you want; hope you’ve found some stock pieces in the shape you want and you can adapt them, otherwise you’ll lay out a pretty penny for custom glass.
If you’re using a FWD engine and transaxle and mounting them for a mid-engine transverse layout, there’s a good chance the tranny is already shifted by a cable, in which case you can install extended cables and be able to go from there.
