Italophobia………?

Why is it that many people seem to hate Italians (especially Germanic men)?
Take Britain for example-
Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia,
Armani, Gucci, Prada, Versace, Fendi etc….
Millions of Italian restaurants, cookbooks and you cannot switch on the TV without Italian cooking being on there somewhere….
Ice-cream, Rocky Balboa, Vespa, Lambretta and Moka along with many other Italian icons….
…and yet there seems to be this strange contempt of Italians, the word “wop” being used rather frequently I note…. Or references to the mafia, spaghetti and Mussolini ad nauseam…..Why do you think this is?

JEALOUSY – whilst Italians have so much to give what do the Brits have? hooligans, beer bellies, gays, etc, etc, etc – even at football they can’t match.
