Do anyone know how to connect an aftermarket radio to an factory amplifier I have a 1999 lexus gs300 explain?
I want to connect an aftermarket head unit and a aftermarket amplifier to the factory speakers. Can anyone explain the correct procedure to install them. How do i disconnect the factory amplifier and install the aftermarke amplifier with the aftermarket head unit. I know the color of the speaker wires . First in order to connect the aftermarket head unit do i tap in the wires that are coming from the factory wire harness that is hooked to the factory radio. Secondly how do i bypass the factory amplifier and install the aftermarket amplifier to the factory speakers Im using a four channel amplifier
See if there’s a wiring harness for the speaker wires coming OUT of the factory amp. That’s the one you’ll be tapping into from your amp(s) to the factory speakers (bypassing the factory amp).
You can also unplug the block from factory amp and splice into those wires to the speakers. (recommend not cutting them)
Be careful how brutal you are on bypassing the factory amp. If you want to return it to stock, it can be a real pain if you’ve cut wires too short to be stripped, or toss the wire block from the factory amp.
Personally, I’d run all new wires and leave the stock wiring unharmed/unused.
