Just bought a mecedes e350 for wife, was wondering from other owners how often does the car need oil changes?
She has a BMW 525 before and was very trust worthy (except usual german car problems) and we typically has to change oil for every 7000-8000 miles (it indicates)
These cars generally come with sensors which indicate based on the usage when a oil service is required. Oil changing service stations have a standard 3000 or 5000 standard. Just wanted to know what others have experienced.
The E350 was introduced in 2006. The 2005 and newer E Class oil change interval is recommended every 13,000 miles or every 12 months whichever comes first. I recommend you use Mobil One as recommended by MB and also use original MB oil filters to protect your “very expensive” engine.
Here is some additional info. Your maintenance indicator will display one of the following Service A, B, C, D, E etc… when you are due as long as it was properly reset at the last maintenance. A computer is hooked up to the vehicle and downloads all the recommended items due at that time based on the computer’s monitoring.
Brake Fluid change every 2 years
Coolant change every 150,000 miles or 15 years
