why are some ferraris losing to Other cars in races? say mercedes?
i love mercedes
and ferrari
and while i realize, horespower, torque, accelartion rate, engine displacment, cylinders, cylinder size, body, and the engine and engine design acount into a car, i just wonder why these way more powerful, as far as torque, horsepower and 0 to 60 run ferrari’s are losing to cars with less

yet the mercedes engine is more powerful
and so are the mercedes Sl 65 amg series, with the 7 speed semi automatic, but my freind told me these car’s despite having more power get smoked on the track to the ferrari 599, even when the 599 is less powerful
Winning races involves a lot more than just raw power (unless you’re referring to a 1/4 mile, or similiar, straight line drag race). It takes driver’s skill and of course a car that is light weight and designed for racing. The SL65 is neither of these (unless you’re referring to the Black Series, which, while still heavy, is lighter compared to a stock SL65 and does have an upgraded suspension made for the track).
